How forgiving is Zoom with resolution? Is it best to choose a higher resolution to allow for better zooming, but short of a fully high resolution image? . |

Resolution is the key.
The governing factors are applet size, image size and DPI (pixels per inch or centimetre) of the image file.
For example magnifying a 100x100 pixel image at 72 dpi will enlarge but the image has no reserve for quality. So the image should be 100x100 pixels at higher resolution such as 150/300/etc dpi to show quality at maximum enlargement.
Or you can have a image 500x500 pixels at 72 dpi displayed in a Zoom applet sized at 100x100 pixels. |
