After following your instructions completely, I cannot get the script to work on a Windows server. It always loads the "bad-file.gif", even after running on the server for several days. Most of your install instructions do not apply to Windows servers (you can't CHMOD on Windows). I recommend you write 2 sets of instructions, one for Windows and one for Unix. In the meantime, how do I fix my problem?

Assuming that the scripts are configured properly, on NT it comes down to permission problems. If you have access to below the htdocs area that is affected by
FrontPage, you have absolute control over permissions on files which cannot be reset by a "update hyperlinks" command.
If you do not have permission access beyond what is available through
FrontPage while logged into the site, you may need to get your webmaster to set those permissions (read/write) on the admin folder and the files within.
Re the NT documentation, thanks for the feedback. What you have is the NT version but with generic help files and future deliveries will be specifically targeted, ie: NT or Unix? We have also modified the scripts so that each will be a separate package according to server type. |
