Q. Is there a parameter for
ArtistScope to specify the window (portal) size? A. Applet size governs the size of the image displayed.
Q. Is there a maximum source image size? A. The limit is for you decide in
anticipation of the memory potential of your visitors' computers. Decryption needs memory, so having too large an image file (in bytes) may cause problems for some visitors (depending on what other apps they have running at the time). But for most
visitors, a 200k image should not be a problem.
Q. If it's progressive load, does the "tile" that you see initially thru the portal progressively load also or have to wait until a (potentially) large image downloads? A. With "interlaced" images you see a blurred impression of the image as it downloads. With an encrypted image it must download/decrypt first, then it is visible. This phenomenon has mislead many into thinking that the downloads are slower. In fact they are not. It's just that you don't get a tease along the way.
Q. For one license fee, I assume that it's unlimited instances of usage for a particular domain, even if there are
sub domains? A. Licenses are per domain/site, and yes they are for an unlimited number of images that will never expire.
Sub domains are actually different web sites and locations, and they need to be registered at the discounted price for an "extra domain".
