The content that we put on our CD may be redundant after a period of time. Can the CD be set to expire? For example, after a specified date, can the CD no longer be readable so that they will have to get a more recent and updated version of our catalogue?

Yes. You can nominate any date for the CD to expire that you desire.
You can also set a password.

| Will the CD protection be effective forever? Web browsers change regularly and so do their features. What expiration period would you recommend as a safeguard? |

Setting expiration for that reason is not such a bad idea. Also, it would encourage the end user to revisit your web site for a more recent catalogue etc.
The term for expiration then depends on how often your catalogue changes.
By the way expiration is optional - not necessary.
