How to enable Java


Java has been the most commonly used and versatile language used on the web for a long time. It is not dangerous. Java is independent of platform and will run on any computer with the Java VM installed and enabled. It does not have system level permissions and can do no harm to your system. If you don't have the latest Java VM, you should install or upgrade from Sun's Java site.

Internet Explorer

  1. From your browser's tool bar select Tools then Internet Options
  2. Select Security then Custom Level
  3. Ensure that Java Permissions are set to  either High or Medium Safety
  4. Ensure that Scripting of Java applets is set to Enable
  5. Then click OK

Internet Explorer SP2

If you keep returning to the download page, you may also need to adjust your security settings for Signed ActiveX controls.

Netscape

  1. From your browser's tool bar select Edit then Preferences
  2. Then select the Advanced option
  3. Ensure that Enable Java is selected



4. Then click OK

Note:

If you have enabled Java and still being returned to this page, you may have to clear cache or restart your browser. If enabling Java for Internet Explorer you may have to restart the computer.
