Help for
plugins and updates
Copysafe content is supported in all Windows web
browsers.
You
cannot view a Copysafe page without having the latest plugin
installed. Even if you have downloaded the plugin in the
past, if the web site you are visiting has updated to a
later version, you will be redirected to the download page
for a an update.
If you
keep returning to the download page after installing the
latest plugin, it may need to adjust the
security settings in your browser. Other odd
anomalies can occur especially if testing the system simultaneously
with multiple browsers (or other applications) in trying
to foil the system's security.
One-Click Plugin Installation
If your personal security settings are preventing a
one-click plugin installation, please check your web browser
settings as per below.
Internet
Explorer Security Settings
Installing
the plugin for Internet Explorer should be a smooth exercise,
but you need to ensure that the install has completed. First
the program is downloaded, and if the option is chosen to
"open" after download, the installer will begin
its process immediately. However depending on other applications
running on your computer and the speed of your computer,
there may be a delay while the installer is unpacked and
starts the installation.
- Check that
JavaScript is enabled
- Check that
Java is enabled
- Check that you have the
latest Java VM
- Check that
ActiveX should be enabled to allow for Signed
ActiveX controls,
- After a plugin upgrade IE
sometimes needs to be restarted and sometimes you need
to restart the computer (depends on Windows version and
local file permissions).
Netscape
Security Settings
Netscape
behaves quite differently and uses a different plugin to
Internet Explorer.
- Check
that
JavaScript is enabled
- Check
that
Java is enabled
- Check
that you have the latest Java VM.
- You
may need to have Smart Update enabled in your browser
preferences.

plugin from your computer.
Web
developers
Users
with different types of browsers on the same machine for
testing their developments may encounter problems caused
by
caching
of test errors. Also, different browsers may be using different
Java plugin versions.
If you
keep returning to the download page after installing the
latest plugin, and you have checked your
security settings, the problem may be due to your
testing of the system with multiple web browser types or
other applications simultaneously. In this case, shut down
unused applications and/or restart the computer and try
visiting again and behave normally.
