How it works
When a visitor views a CopySafe Web page, if the CopySafe Web plugin is
detected then the page is displayed but they are not able to copy, save or
capture your page content. If the CopySafe Web plugin is not detected, they
are redirected for download and installation.
Producing protected content
Protecting any web content is simple to do... just add the html to your web
page/s. Using the CopySafe
Web Converter normal images can be batch processed
and also configured for a variety of effects such as swap image, hyperlink
or slideshow. Then you have the option of saving them to a single page or to
individual pages ready for upload to your web site.
- Banking & Finance - copy protect documents enabling them to be
accessed or researched but not for duplication.
- CD Distribution -distribute a replica of your web site on CD so
that your catalogue can be viewed offline but in a copy protected
environment.
- Corporate Networks - within a corporate network you can have the
most secure copy protection imaginable.
- Draughting & Photography - architects and photographers can copy
protect photographs and drawings and provide restricted access until paid.
- Online Surveys - site visitors can submit answers to survey
questionnaires while viewing pre release product data and photos without
being able to copy or duplicate.
- Shopping Carts and E-Commerce - copy protect your product catalogue
and photographs from plagiarism by competitors.
The
means available for copying images from the web are numerous:
- Saving
images on the web page by right clicking on the mouse.
- Saving
the page in IE5, all images/content on the page is saved.
- Downloading
a web site using Adobe reader/editor.
- Directly
linking to where the image is stored on the server.
- By opening
the image from browser cache from the temporary Internet folder.
- By using
screen capture programs and the Print Screen.

Batch
import images
File import
supports multiple selection - you use Control and Shift click
to select images in batches, or select a folder and CopySafe will
import all the images in that folder regardless of how many. When
loaded into the CopySafe directory you have the option of selecting
some or all images in the list to configure in batches or creating
individual settings.
Saving
large batches of images
When
you have finished adjusting the size, image effects or targeted
link, borders, colors and loading text messages to be displayed,
click the Convert button. The next window will ask for a folder
location to save into. CopySafe will encrypt and save more than
3000 images with just one click, saving them all to one page, or
to newly created web pages for each individual image. Each image
will displayed with its image name underneath.
Configuring the image settings
When you highlight an individual image you can then click the
Configure
button to set the image display preferences. To select all
images listed you can use the Select All button. All the images
highlighted can be encrypted on the one command - clicking the
Convert button. You can also use Shift or Cntrl select to select
groups of images. When importing, if a folder is selected, CopySafe will sort the content and import all the suitable images in that
folder.
Selecting
display styles
After
selecting the images that you want to use, click on the CONFIGURE
button. A preferences window will open in relation to the image
that you have selected in the directory window. Select from the
dropdown list the style of display that you wish for the
selected image. When converting a batch of images many variations
are possible:
- Static image with no tricks.
- Image hyperlink
to the next page using a targeted frame.
- Begin with
an image and display product info on mouse over.
- Begin with
a text message and show the image on mouse over.
- Swap one
image for another on mouse over.
Several
message areas are available to present navigation hints, exhibit
particulars or purchasing instructions. A message can be shown in
the image area as the pic downloads, in the status bar on mouse
over and also in the image area on MouseOver.
Encryption
The
most important area that image encryption protects is the downloading
of the image by direct means after locating its path. CopySafe encrypted images are safe on the server because they cannot be
viewed away from the registered web site. They are secure in the
Temporary Internet Folder or Cache, and even safe from your server's
webmaster.
Editing pages
The
new page can be used as template to copy the image applet from for
pasting onto existing pages with prepared copy. Or it can be used
as the start page to build upon by adding extra images and text,
etc.
Customizing
the template
If
you want to save time with batches, especially if all your pages
need to have the same header and footer information, the template
file can be edited to any look that you want. CopySafe will insert
your image at the position of the insert code.
Uploading
When
your pages are finished with the extra content added, simply upload
them to your web site, ensuring that all the files produced by the
program are in the same folder. It is that simple. Your original
images are no longer needed and should not be on your web site.
