What is not protected by
ArtistScope CD?
While the content within your archive is now protected, when
individual pages and images are viewed in a web browser, the
end user has the same privileges as when visiting your web
site online, which means that saving and copying using the
normal means is possible unless further measures are taken. To
further protect images and pages while being viewed, you can
include Secure
Image or CopySafe Web
solutions which are fully supported by ArtistScope CD. Secure
Image provides image encryption for protection from mouse
saves, image link extraction and cache retrieval, but CopySafe
Web is recommended as the most secure solution for protecting
from all threats including Printscreen and all screen capture
software.
Why does the end user need to use a web
browser?
To deliver the same web pages that you use on your web site,
ArtistScope CD includes a mini web server engine. The reading
of any web page is best viewed using a popular web browser.
What type of file format, html and
scripting is supported on ArtistScope CD?
All of the usual html effects are supported in
ArtistScope CD archives including CSS style, JavaScript and
Java. All of the commonly used image formats for web
presentation are supported such as Gif, Jpg, Png, Tiff as well
as document formats such Excel, PDF and Word.
What file formats are not supported on ArtistScope CD?
Due to the strong encryption used by ArtistScope CD some
movies and animations using Codecs may not be supported. Some
other file types may be similarly affected depending on their
file size and mode of creation such as Flash and PowerPoint.
Can ArtistScope CD be copy protected
while viewed in a web browser?
ArtistScope CD will support most copy protection solutions
however CopySafe Web is recommended as the most secure and
robust and ideal for CD distribution.
Can ArtistScope CD be protected from
duplication?
No. It is impossible to prevent duplication of a CD. Many
companies have invested millions in trying to find a solution
but they all fall short in the end. However you can be assured
that the content on the CD cannot be distributed in part.
ArtistScope CD software is custom compiled to order
so that your company details can be embedded in the archives
that you create.
Webmaster's Note:
ArtistScope CD is designed for encrypting and displaying
web style media. That is, catalogues and documentation
that is comprised of linked html pages, like what you
use on your web site. ArtistScope CD enables you to
distribute a clone of your web site catalogue for use
offline as a downloaded file or distributed on CD.
ArtistScope CD content is encrypted into a single
archive so that content cannot be extracted. But if you
need protection from copy while the pages are displayed
in a web browser, then you will need to employ an
additional solution. CopySafe Web and Secure Image can
be used on ArtistScope CD, however ArtistScope Web
Reader cannot be used on removable disks as it requires
a server-side filter. |
